On The Scientific Spirit In The Republic Of China

In view of the increasingly close relationships of science and social culture in the modern social context, or even an exhibition of the comprehensive national strength, so Chinese emphasis on the development of science. The healthy development of science requires all aspects of factors that cooperates with each other. One of the important factors to enhance science to sustainable and healthy development is the spirit of science, so that many scholars in China regard the scientific spirit as the core motivation of research and an important principle of a guidance to people's daily lives.The real modern science in China originates from the Republic of China. In order to better clarify the origins of the modern scientific spirit and analyze the characteristics of the modern scientific spirit, the author selected the Republic of China as an important historical period in depth analysis of the scientific spirit. This paper divides in scientific spirit: scientific research and scientific life following historical clues of the Republic of China. Some scholars believe that from1898to1927is the period of the cultural enlightenment of the modern science in China. The author supports this viewpoint, but on this basis, the author will investigate the career of science of this period in detail, summarizing up the three kinds of view of science:the formative period of the Enlightenment, this stage of introduction of the scientific knowledge and the dissemination of Darwinism Social evolutionism, concentrating on the period of May Fourth Movement; the formative period of the cultural and scientific view is not only the embryonic period of modern Chinese scientific establishment, but also the pure scientific research, development and transitional period from traditional culture to modern scientific culture in the1920s it is significant; the practical view of science, the stage is not only greatly to improve the scientific knowledge of the public, the close relationship between science and business, agriculture, but also effectively changed the actuality. The author examines in detail the scientific events of the Republic of China and scientific activities of some scholars, then deeply analyses them, to attempt to summarize and explain the scientific spirit which the scholars hold and they engage in scientific activities in the Republic of China.In this paper, it provides a historical stage clues, from the two aspects of scientific research and life of the scientific spirit in the Republic of China. For this the author further researches the scientific spirit, then the reflection of the scientific research spirit, scientific life spirit and science culture. The author make a new explanation of connotation of the scientific spirit.
