Meng Mountain's Giant Buddha Scenic Area is located at20kilometers southwestern ofTaiyuan, Shanxi Province, it is a newly developed high-profile tourist attractions in Taiyuan. Thereare beautiful natural scenery and unique cultural tourism resources, artifacts in monopolistic in it.Meng Mountain's Giant Buddha Scenic Area has the earliest excavated in the world, whose heightis8m less than Le Shan Giant Buddha's, it has the prestigious Royal monastery which is known as"the first temple of Bingzhou" in ancient China. It has one of the only ten flower towers extant inChina-even the rationale for tower, it has China's earliest perfect iron Buddha extant-Sakyamuniand his two disciples. However, due to changing ages, wind strips and rain erodes, coupled with thebaptism of war in modern times, the former popular temple, Buddha meet with varying degrees ofdamage, and disappeared for more than600years. Since2007, Jinyuan District government beganto recover Meng Mountain's Giant Buddha Scenic Area, and to build it in accordance with thestandard of the national4A level scenic area. Nowadays it has taken shape. However, because thescenery is still in its early development stage, there are still a lot of problems. Exploring tourismdevelopment strategy for Meng Mountain Giant Buddha Scenic Area has important practicalsignificance.This paper is on the basis of numbers of site visits to Meng Mountain's Giant Buddha ScenicArea, it analyses the current situation and existed problems of the scenic tourist exploration,discusses the principles for tourism exploration of the scenic spots, the pattern what should betaken for scenic tourism exploration. Then it highlights suggestions for scenic tourismdevelopment, in order to provide decision-making reference for Meng Mountain's Giant BuddhaScenic Area tourism development.
