Karst caves with its deep and fantastic cave environment, and splendid cavesediments attract a large number of cave enthusiasts for visit, study and exploration.Karst cave is valuable geological heritage resources from nature. It needs more thandozens of thousands of years for these sediments to take shape. The sediments can’t beregenerated once they are destroyed. Southeast region is rich in cave resource, but thecave utilization is very low and some caves are severely damaged. It should bestrengthened to study on exploration, protection and utilization of the cave resources inthis region. This paper is based on the investigation of geological heritage tourismresource, accomplished by on-the-spot investigation and material collection. At first theauthor analyzes the current situation of the caves in the region, with stating the types ofcave sediments and characteristics of the caves in Southeast. Then the situation of caveresource protection and utilization is analyzed. At last, two factors including naturalfactor and personal factor leading to the change of the cave sediments and depositionalenvironment is deeply analyzed, and the author find out the influence on caveenvironment and sediments by hydrological changes of karst water, flood, earthquake, tourism development, regrating cave sediments. Qualitative evaluation combined withquantitative evaluation for the cave sediments landscape is used. The investigated cavesare classed into Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ、Ⅴ. According to the classification, different protectionareas are divided, and different protection measures are drawn up. Detailed protectionmeasures for those caves under tourism development are raised. Concerning caveutilization, the author gets rid of traditional development mode for tourism, optimizingcave sightseeing tour, and analyzes corresponding method of cave utilization inaccordance with the sediment classification, which broaden the way of utilizing thecaves being poor in sediments.
