Thenon-metric traits of the samples above were observed. To observe the projectswhich were closed to the cranial jaw and facial structure characteristics. Thenwe can accumulate the relevant informations of Chinese jaw bone, arch andtooth physical anthropology. Methods: Based on the manual of anthropometry, physical anthropology, oral anatomy and physiology, and the orthodontics, the data of ancient jaw boneof2200years ago which were saved in the school of cultural heritage ofNorthwest University were measured and observed. The samples consisted of58skulls,54maxillas and80mandibles.①27skull measurements,6maxillarymeasurements and21mandibular measurements were reported.②Measureddental arch symmetry, the length and width of the arch.③Reported the thirdmolar eruption situation and8measurements about tooth morphology. According to observation methods of the Traditional anthropology and oralanatomy, non-metric measruements were observed on the specimens above.Recorded the non-metric traits of the jaw bone. Including buccal exostoses, mandiblular torus, foramina mentale, fossa canina and the dental arch anddentition patterns. Data obtained were analyzed by SPSS19.0.Result:①Reported measurements and angles of the skull.Comparing themeasured value of the skull morphology between gender. And pointing out thatthere are differences in project. Measured data is valued from three-dimensionalabout the jaw bone.In the same way, Comparing the measured value of the jawbone morphology between gender. And pointing out that there are differences inproject. Among them, the female mandibular angle is greater than men.②Theresults of non-metric measruements as follows: Buccal exostosesa is morecommon in non and mild. But80%of the mandibles do not have mandiblulartorus.More Torus palatinus are appered in ridge-like,the height of it issmall(1mm<height<3mm).The high incidence of fossa canina are level2and1.The location of foramina mentale is much more happende under the secondpremolar(P2). Male chin form is given priority to square, while female see moreround and square.③The non-symmetry is much more happend in the posteriorof the arch. There is no difference between gender about arch legth, butindividual width of the arch is different. The palate shape of Maxilla and thedentition patterns are similar in distribution.④Reported data of the toothmeasurement, and found3cases of mandibular canine are2roots.⑤Thenormally eruption of the third molar are more common. The congenital absencerate is high in maxilla. But Mandibulae is high in impacteing rate. The eruptionphenomenon between gender is not different. We do not find dental treatmentphenomenon nor the second molars which were impacted. Conclusion: The data may provid information for morphological evolutionof human jaw bones, arch ahd tooth by observing appearance. To provide initialdata for our oriented group post-series studies. And it could aslo provide somereferences for sex identification by using human jaw bones. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Ancients, Jaw bone, Morphology, Measurement, Appearance, Non-metric, Third molar | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
