Thrust vector control provides the modern fighter aircraft with several advantages, and becominga necessary techniques.Mechanical thrust vectoring techniques which based on movable Mechanicalthrust vectoring nozzles have been applied on the modern fighter aircraft.However, fluidic thrustvectoring methods typically rely on injection, suction, or controlled excitation of the flow to producethe vectoring effect, it is becoming the hot research and the trend of development.With simple configuration and wide applicability of flow speed, a fluidic thrust vectoring nozzlehas been designed and machined, and can be used to reseach thrust vector control at low or high speedmain jet.On the principle of entrainment of jet, a way is used to restrict flow quantity through controlslot from entironment to nozzle, the deflection of the main jet came true.This research attempted tocontrol the deflection of the main jet with synthetic jet also.First, the mechanism of thrust vector control with Counterflow or Co-flow was summarized, andthe reason of jet deflection was explained. Pressure difference between the two sides of jet is afundamental reason of the deflection of main jet, a way of fluidic thrust vector control which based onthe principle of entrainment of jet was brought.Secondly, on the condition of low flow speed, taking the method to adjust the area of slot entry,continuous and proportional control of the jet was demonstrated for vectoring angles up to19o. At thesame time, the results approved the reason of jet deflection.Results showed that the derection ofpressure difference determines the derection of jet deflection and the magnitude of pressure differencedetermines the magnitude of jet deflection angle. It is the greatest benefit that has adapeted well todifference speed for the method which based on the principle of entrainment of jet.At last, the wall-attached bistable effects of nozzle jet which casued by Coanda-effect at someboundary conditions was analyzed. This paper gave some advices to avoid the wall-attached bistableeffects, showed a lamp for the design of thrust vector nozzle and next study work.
