Microsphere resonator with high-quality factor because of its unique whispering gallery modehas been paid much attention to and also has a wide application in the sensing and testingfields. The thesis starting from the coupling characteristics of the microsphere cavity has aresearch in the study of the optical characteristics and nonlinear effects on High-Q resonator.This thesis includes the theoretical analysis of the performance indicators of themicrosphere resonator, the preparation of the microsphere resonator and the tapered fiber , theestablishment of the micro -cavity and tapered fiber coupling system, and the building of atesting system.According to the study of transmission lines, we build a feedback system of thecoupled system,which provides a good experimental platform to further researches.The stability of the coupled system will be influenced not only by external environmentalfactors but also the laser performance interference and other issues in the practicalapplications. This paper focuses on improving the stability of the coupled system ,andincreases the noise ratio of siganals by the lock to the frequency of the light sources .Appropriate solutions are proposed by analyzing between external factors and intrinsiccharacteristics. And the integration of a microsphere resonator and the tapered fiber packagewas achieved by adopting the low refractive index method of curing the UV glue. So iteffectively overcomes the interference of outside environmental noise coupling system andlays the foundation for subsequent experiments and researches.Microsphere cavity which has high quality factors and the characteristics of the smallcavity mode volume makes the microsphere resonator easy to reach the nonlinear threshold.How to effectively use the nonlinear effect of the micro-cavity, it is a hot spot in themicro-cavity research area. Therefore, this paper theoretically analyzes the generationmechanism of the four-wave mixing phenomena ,and the key factor to achieve the four-wavemixing coupling system is to satisfy the phase matching conditions. Meanwhile, the paper makes a preliminary experimental study on four-wave mixing phenomenon,according to thebuilding of the four-wave mixing experiment platform. By using Silica microsphere cavitywith high Q (107) tapered fiber (cone diameter 8um,) of the coupled system, under thecondition of the light closed-loop locked , the test gets the cascading four wave mixingphenomenon with a bandwidth greater than 60nm.
