By reading the relevant books and reports, using historical analysis, comparative studiesas well as cited analysis of the the former research results , the author of the paper has done adetailed research and study of the origin of projective geometry, the main work is as following:Firstly,this paper introduced the basic concepts of projective geometry in Apollonius’andPappus’writings, systematically explained the development of the 15th century’s projectivegeometry, comprehensively studied Alberti and Leonardo’s research in Renaissance time, andpointed out the diferent achievements between the two on the issue around the questions of theorigin of projective geometry.Secondly,this paper delved into the research work of Desargues’projective geometry, pointedout that he was the founder of projective geometry, at the same time, made a scientific expla-nation of why projective geometry did not develop into an independent subject in the historicalbackground of the 17th century.Thirdly,this paper made a detailed discussion of the later development of projective ge-ometry, studied Poncelet’s though about projective geometry , analyzed Steiner’s principle ofduality using examples, explored how Staudt established the thought of projective geometry by acompletely new approach, analyzed Plucker’s methods of introducing homogeneous coordinates,and generalized Klein’thought of unified geometry.
