The southern of Yuncheng of Shanxi Province, is a closed streambasin. During winter and spring it’s droughty, but in summer andautumn it’s full of rain. Hot and humid environment makes the soilorganic matter decompose. The groundwater rises, which makessalinization intensified. The cultivated area reduced, so Salt Lakeexpands around continuously. The preliminary study on the plant ofSalicornia living in the closest to Salt Lake and the measure andanalyzing of growth environment provide the basis for thetransformation of such lanI ,the salinization of land rehabilitation, reconstruction and expansion of vegetation. We can drawconclusions as follows:This study used a combination of field investigation andlaboratory methods. We have analysised the physiologycharacteristic and its influencing factors around the quadrat ofSalicornia in Yuncheng salt Lake. And we have determinated theirecological characteristics, biological traits, chlorophyll content andthe survival of the soil environment; and in the laboratory we usedcultivation of the soil culture (sand and vermiculite 1:4),and thenstudied the seedling biomass, cell membrane function, chlorophyllcontent and the changes of antioxidant systems in order to investigate Salicornia plant growth, physiological responsemechanism in different salt treatments. So that we can provide atheoretical basis for the salt lake region saline land restorationresearch and extensive cultivation of production.(1) With the increase of soil water content, salt content becomeslower, the growth of Salicornia gets lush, and multi-branched, densityand the associated species is relatively increased; The plant height ofSalicornia and the biomass are proportional to the soil moisture .When the salt content habitats is similar, the density of individualbiomass is relatively small. Salicornia shoot to root ratio, plant height, biomass are inversely proportional to the soil content; In salt stressenvironment ,Salicornia taproot is weak, mainly to absorb waterthrough an increase in fibrous roots.(2) Habitat Soil factor differences found: Yuncheng Salt Lake ofSalicornia grows in the salt range 5% -10% soil, soil pH values slightlyneutral sodium ions in the soil. The chloride ion is the main actingfactor of the soil, which the chloride ion and sulfate-based, wecollected the soil of the salt lake area .With the Analysis ofdifferences in soil factors on the three plots of Salicornia we foundthat the soil moisture content, total salt content, sodium ions, chloride ions, potassium ions are the main role of the Salicorniabiological characteristics of the difference factor.Salicornia biological characteristics and soil factors coming tothe role of the Salicornia density are affected by soil factors. It ispositively correlated with soil pH value, and sodium ions, sulfate ionsinto negative indicating that the salt angle grass density is small athigh salt concentrations. Sodium and sulfate ions are the main acting factors of the saline soil environment; Salicornia covered with soilwater content is positively correlated, a high water content of theregional plant cover.(3) Salt (NaCl) stress significantly affects the growth of seedlingsof Salicornia. It’s when the salt concentration is low, which promotesthe growth of seedlings of Salicornia (250 , 500 mmol / L). When thesalinity continues to increase, plant height becomes shorter, branchnumber becomes less, and plant water content becomes less. IN the500mmol / L NaCl, the plant biomass is the biggest. With the increasing salt concentration, the Na+and Cl~–in theleaves increase in the contribution of osmotic adjustment onSalicornia, the Cl~–ion changes more, the contribution of K+increases with the salt concentration reduced ; When shootsaccumulation of Na and Cl-content is high, its accumulation increaseswith the increasing of salt concentration.MDA content in Salicornia seedlings cells increases and therelative conductivity is significantly higher in NaCl processing. Butthe plant body can alleviate the damage caused by salt stress byimproving the antioxidant system of defense capabilities andincreasing the content of osmolytes to s, which is showed by thecontent of SOD, POD and CAT changing, and Pro and soluble sugarcontent increasing .
