Natural Gas Hydrate is a kind of energy deposits, which has many advantages, such as no pollution, high energy storage density, high storage on the earth. We need to research physical parameters of natural gas hydrate and its influencing factors in the laboratory before we commercially exploit of natural gas hydrate. Among them the influence of saturation is especially important than other physical parameters’, because accidents may happen for mechanical strength decline caused by reduction of saturation of NGH. Considering the low saturation of methane hydrate using traditional synthesis method in the laboratory at present, we need to study a highly efficient method of hydrate formation.This paper mainly takes the formation method of the high degree of saturation methane hydrate and scanning methane hydrate growth process by CT as research object. The aim of this paper is to try to form methane hydrate of high degree of saturation in the laboratory to provide the material for its follow-up parameters test by using the method of temperature and pressure controlling. This paper argues that the methane hydrate of high saturation can be get by using the temperature and pressure parameters path controlling method. We can get a set of CT scanning device which is suitable for observing methane hydrate formation in the reaction vessel, by designing and reforming the Methane hydrate formation reaction vessel and its peripheral auxiliary equipment.The experiment results of high saturation hydrate formation test shows that, the saturation of methane hydrate made by using the temperature and pressure parameters path controlling method is almost the theoretical maximum. We can avoid the sample decomposition in the process of taking it from the reaction vessel, which improve the saturation when mechanical testing.In this paper we research scanning hydrate formation process by CT, compare CT imaging technology with various imaging technology in the aspect of advantages, conclude that the details of the CT technology application used in observational study of methane generation and growth situation.In this paper we manufacture the reaction kettle body and the temperature control device with the aluminum alloy materials in the design process of CT reaction kettle, which solves the low imaging quality problem caused by the heavy metal efficiently. In addition we reconstruct the scanning mode of hydrate CT machine, in order to adapt to the hydrate formation needs.In conclusion, this paper studies the synthesis method of high saturation methane hydrate and the hydrate formation growth process scanning by CT imaging technology. We design a set of CT scanning device suitable for observing methane hydrate formation in the reaction kettle.
