The design of mining equipment is one of the key factors in the ocean resources development technology. And the walk environment is important basis of mining equipment’s design. So further studying the walk environment of mining equipment has important theory and engineering significance. Now in situ testing is the main method to obtain the geotechnical data of deep-sea sediments. This method can overcome the shortcoming that the testing sample is disturbed. And the testing data is relatively real. But this method depends on the advanced technology and is strict to the sea environment. In addition, it is very difficult and expensive. Moreover, the data obtained by this method only can indicate the bearing capacity indirectly. If we want it to be translated into the bearing capacity, it needs some experience relationship which is not existed presently. In the view of this, the paper studies the bearing capacity of deep-sea sediments by the way of theoretical analysis, considering the influence of the deep-sea sediments’physical and mechanical properties and mining equipment’s subsidence depth on the bearing capacity. And the main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, beginning with the study on the physical and mechanical properties and bearing mechanism of deep-sea sediments, on the basis of characteristic that the physical and mechanical properties of deep-sea sediments are changing with the depth, the subsidence depth model of mining equipment has been proposed according to the construction feature of mining equipment.Secondly, the deep-sea sediments’bearing capacity model controlled by subsidence depth is presented based on the subsidence depth model. The bearing capacity model is very simple. And the parameters are less and easy to determine. This model provides the basis for the mining equipment’s design and manufacture.Finally, according to the domestic research results of the mining equipment, the bearing capacity of deep-sea sediments is calculated by the method presented in this paper. Then the results are compared with experimental results and indoor simulation test results. And it indicates the model presented in this paper reasonable and feasible.
