This paper describes the design and simulation of GPS(global navigation system) software receiver, GNSS (global navigation satellite system) is developing very quickly, especially our BeiDou navigation system is fast in construction, GPS is the most mature system, so that study the design and simulation of GPS software receiver, which can give the important reference for development other navigation positioning system. The key part is the acquisition and tracking algorithm in the design and implementation of the GPS software receiver, the optimum algorithm directly determine the performance of the receiver, this thesis first to describing the integral design of the software receiver, briefly describes the signal processing with the RF front end and the digital intermediate frequency data collection, this paper emphasizes the principle and implementation of algorithm of the acquisition and tracking, the GPS satellite signal and satellite positioning principle are introduced. The programming and simulation of the acquisition and tracking algorithm based on matlab, Matlab has powerful library function and mapping function, make the algorithm is more easy to be realized, the researchers were able to make the design more energy to focus on the design of the algorithm, and choice the most efficiency algorithm.This paper is divided into six chapters, The first chapter describes GPS software receiver background、significance and design objectives; The second chapter describes the GPS system; The third chapter explain software receiver total design; The fourth chapter explain the theory and design method of acquisition algorithm; Chapter 5 explain the theory and design method of tracking algorithm, Chapter 6 explain program design method and simulation.This paper describes the performance method of the design and simulation of GPS receiver, it provides a convenient algorithm validation platform, but also provides a well method for other satellite navigation system receiver research.
