Resource Management Of Chongqing Wulong World Natural Heritage

Wulong Karst, located in the Sichuan Basin, southeastern margin of the Wujiang River,consisting of Natural three Bridge, Furong river, Houping doline which are comparativelyindependent geological heritage, was inscribed as a natural heritage on the World Heritage Listby UNESCO World Heritage Committee in2007. Considered as the important part of southChina Karst, Chongqing Wulong Karst accords with the criteria vii. South China Karst covers alarge area of southwest China, where live nearly20million people. Comparative studies betweentypical geoparks about Karst at home and similar landscape abroad will be conducted based onWulong Karst features and values; meanwhile, scientific resource management system ongeological heritage and local development will be established.Through the study, this article will draw the following content:(1) First, this thesis, based on the investigation of the Chongqing Wulong world natural heritageresources, makes a thorough survey on the basic characteristics of Chongqing Wulong naturaland geographical conditions, geological background, the development of history and resources.Then it scientifically analyses the geological relics the entity, launches the compound mode inKarst system, morphological characteristics and exhibition cloth law in the area. Though makinga comprehensive and systematic evaluation of its heritage resource type and distribution, we candraw the conclusion about the special value and position of WuLong world heritage.(2) Further on, the thesis does some research to analyze the present development of Wulongworld heritage site by using a variety of methods. Especially when the number of tourists inWuLong Chongqing increased sharply from2005to2011, the thesis analyzes Wulong tourismdevelopment in Chongqing by using regression analysis, and concludes that the site acquired agreater development after being inscribed on the World Heritage List.(3) After deeply comparing Chongqing Wulong with the other two sites of the South ChinaKarst and typical Karst World heritage sites abroad from the view of strategic management, thethesis summarizes the Chongqing Wulong special advantages and developing orientation.(4) Based on the previous research, this thesis draws in the last chapter the conclusion thatdeveloping Chongqing Wulong should follow the main countermeasures. Firstly, giving priorityto ecological, low carbon, environmental protection tourism manner, mining features cultureconnotation, integrating the international games into the cultural heritage, developing creative culture industry, improving feature tourism product structure, and building one ecologicaltourism economic park with the foundation of geological knowledge, and the auxiliary ofheritage characteristics.
