Lightning is a violent weather phenomena occuring in the atmosphere, whose occurrence and development is not only fast, but also complex. Specialized instruments to detect lightning in addition to the camera outside,there are only the atmospheric electric field instrument and lightning locator.radar, satellite, sounding can not directly observe lightning. therefore, the intuitive information on lightning observed is rarely. Lightning weather forecasting is still in its infancy due to lack of information. Someone tries to atmospheric electric field instrument sensing the intensity of the lightning current instructions as an early warning of lightning, the impact of installation environment of atmospheric electric field instrument and the sensitivity of severe convective weather other than lightning, warning lightning becomes very difficult with single atmospheric electric field instrument. Lightning Detection System can monitor location and intensity parameters of lightning, the concept of lightning activity model through the statiatics of a large number of historical data can make extrapolation forecast, otherwise, which do not have the ability to forecast lightning. Reasonable cooperation of the weather radar and meteorological satellite observations and the Lightning Detection and atmospheric electric field instrument can give the forecast lightning factor of weather radar and meteorological satellite data, which shows that the use of a single weather radar or meteorological satellite observations to forecast lightning is impossible. Therefore, we still use conventional observations, radiosonde observations, weather radar and meteorological satellite and the Lightning Detection and observations of the atmospheric electric field instrument to carry out lightning nowcasting at this stage, which have achieved some success.Basing on previous research, collecting16lightning weather process’s meteorological satellites, Doppler weather radar, lightning location system in Jiangsu Province, atmospheric electric field instrument observations and radiosonde data of Nanjing in2009and2010. After calculating comparison, integration analysis, satellite data and radar data parameters of lightning development in Nanjing area are extracted:genting cooling rate and temperature gradient from cold cloud center to the boundary of the convective clouds on the satellite imageries, the radar echo echo strength,the height of maximum echo tops, vertically integrated liquid water content, and wind field characteristics. Finally, through the comparisonal analysis and statistics to parameters extracted and lightning data, lightning forecast probability model of Nanjing and its surrounding areas are established. Satellite data and radar data are applied to the lightning forecast.Satellite detection range and radar has high precision, and cloud images can see the genting distribution, and radar echoes can see the cloud base and vertical distribution of clouds, which will be able to provide small and medium-scale lightning weather analysis and forecasting more comprehensive information. The combination analysis of satellite data and radar can make the appropriate forecasting and early warning.
