In recent years, with the deep-going study and the continuous improvement of the degreeof the gas reservior exploration in the area of resource assessment, the application ofhydrocarbon generation kinetic is getting more and more extensive, the further study of thecharacteristics of this method is not only with great significance to its application to the oiland gas resource potential assessment but also with great significance to dynamic evaluationof the total amount of hydrocarbon generation of source rocks, therefore, On the basis of thethermal simulation experiments of differernt types of organic matters and the obtained relationdata between the experimental product yields and the heating temperatures, comparisonresearches and analysis on the products of differernt experiments and the hydrocarbongeneration kinetic characteristics of different types organic matters have been finished.At last, combined with source rock parameters, the natural gas resource of Kuche sagand the upper Permian in Sichuan basin have been estimated, the experimental results showthat the corresponding Ro of methane begin to generate in a large number in TG-MSexperiment is the same with the maturity of the gasous hydrocarbon begin to generate in thecondition of geology. But the corresponding Ro of methane begin to generate in a largenumber in Rock-eval experiment is far less than the maturity of the gasous hydrocarbon beginto generate in the condition of geology. Meantime,in the condition of TG-MS experiment, thetermination temperature of methane generation from coal sample is about850℃, andcalculated by extend EasyRo%model, the corresponding Ro is about5.3%. and its totalweight loss rate is higher than the shale, there are two peaks during the process of the weightloss, but for the shale,there are three. The reason of the formation of first two peaks of shaleis the same with the coal, which are mainly the loss of adsorbed gas with low temperature、moisture and the thermal decomposition of organic matter in a higher temperature, and thethird peak is caused by the analysis of carbonate rocks, at the same time, the separationcharacter of gaseous hydrocarbon and inorganic gas have been analysed, and the causes ofvarious types of gas products have been revealed. At last,the result of the gas resourcepotential assessment shows that the total gas yield of the Permian in Sichuan basin and Kuchesag is respectively369.5×1012m3and301.72×1012m3,the gas generation period is restivelylate which are mainly after the Tertiary.
