the Herbarium is the preservation and research institutions of plant specimens. The teaching and research of botany-related subjects can not be separated from the herbarium, especially for plant taxonomy. And in addition to solve some actual research on the issue of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry industry, medicine and other institutions, the herbarium have a very important reference value.In the research and production, the primary materials of the plant species to identify and examine is the plant specimens. There are many species in plants, many of the same family belong to different kinds of plants, very similar in appearance, but its chemical composition may have a very big difference, such as fruit and flax Camelina is very similar, if we are not carefully recognize, it is easy to confuse. Especially in today’s society, with the continuous development of market economy, and with the development and utilization of economic plants, the relevant departments paid more and more attention to the wide range of development and production of natural health products, so accurate classification and identification of the plant is the important prerequisite for their production and utilization. The impact analysis of the phytochemical results the biggest factor is the genus, species identification is correct or not. Herbarium specimens have been scientific and accurate identification and classification, herbarium can provide fast, accurate and intuitive scientific information for the chemical composition research in the related production department.In general, the plant specimens is more collection, the coverage more widely and more abundant raw material for various scientific research. But in reality the opposite is true, because of the data of the plant specimens is particularly large, it is a hard-solved problem on plant specimen data management and query, resulting in very low utilization of plant specimen data in research or in the further development of, making a large number of plant specimens of information resources has not been fully effective development and utilization. Therefore, using database technology is a good solution to query the database directly in the management of the plant specimen data, the Inter technology can achieve that the users around the world through the network can directly query the database information, and it is a true sharing of resources, which will active role in promoting science research and development.This paper base on the wax leaf plant data (for Gentianaceae example)preserved in the College of Resources and Environmental Sciences Herbarium of Xinjiang University,[Xinjiang University Herbarium of the Department of Geography (XJUG)], explore the information technology in establishment of the plant specimens management system, and initially establish a specimen information management system. The system use the county as the management unit, users can quickly and easily inquiry plant specimens Information.This paper studies some research on the following aspects:1.this paper using Gentianaceae plant specimens carry on the specimen information sorting, collection and entry, in accordance with the specimen barcode, Museum of code, Chinese name, Latin name, schema type, specimen status, collected person, collection number, acquisition time, information about the land acquisition, habitat, latitude and longitude, altitude, identification of people2. The pretreatment of the raw data, the establishment of information database of plant specimens is the next step. Database tables include the section tables, case tables, kind tables, specimen tables, and specimen picture tables, all tables have primary key to connect, and finally, using Gentianaceae as test data.3. The design and initially established of information inquiry system of plant specimens. This system based on.NET Framework platform, using visual programming language C#developers and ADO.NET technology, it can realize that the system statistics and analysis of various types of data more secure, faster. Selected database SQL Server2008as the back-end database to store data, base on a more complete database infrastructure, the use of stored procedures and data set to complete the data add, delete, modify, and query operations to ensure that the system information maintenance and comprehensiveness. We establish plant specimens of resources and environmental Sciences, Xinjiang University digital Museum system to achieve the query capabilities of the plant specimen information. Specimens query features include plant Family query, the species name queries.
