In nonhuman primate society, natal dispersal is generally thought to promote inbreeding avoidance and increase access to mate. Natal dispersal is a fundamental aspect of a species’ life history. Sub-male staying phenomenon is a common phenomenon for the species which is not dispersal or late. From2010January to2011June, we used scanning sampling and focal animal behavioral sampling all occurrence recording to record the data of Golden snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus roxellana) in Zhouzhi National Nature Reserve of Qinling Mountains. The aim is to expiain the reason of Sub-male staying phenomenon which base on recganize individual of the group. We collected the distances and behaviors data of three sub-male individuals in two one-male units. Proximity index and behaviors methods have been used to analysis the relationship between individuals, and use the Kruskal-Wallis H text the proximity index. The results showed that the male takeover is the main factors of natal dispersal for young males in the golden snub-nosed monkey. Individual attraction from outside unit and kinship are the secondary factors. |
