The Don Javier porphyry copper deposit, part of porphyry copper belt in southern Peru, is a typical porphyry copper deposit in continental margin-arc environment. The paper have attemptted to summarize the geochemical characteristics, geological conditions and ore-controlling factors of Don Javier porphyry copper deposit, by taking the research on regional geological background, geological characteristics, geochemical and geophysical characteristics. The paper also discusses on metallogenic prediction for Don Javier deposit. Results are as follows:1) This thesis divides a variety of breccia into three categories:①Tourmaline breccias;②Intrusive breccias;③Crackle breccias, and also discusses on the relationship between each category and mineralization. It is concluded that intrusive breccia and crackle breccia closely related to mineralization is favorable ore-occurrence space. There is no direct relationship between tourmaline breccia and mineralization.2) Based on observation and analysis of faults and joints on the study area, it is preliminary considered that three groups of ore-controlling structures belong to the same structural system, which are respectively constructed in the direction of NW320°-330°, NNE10°-20°and NE50°-79°. The NW-trending structure subjected to regional-scale compressive stress me-chanism, and the NE-trending structure releated to regional-scale transcurrent system.3) Taking the research on the environment and metallogenic specialization of the deposit by analyzing major, trace and rare earth elements of the mining area. It is Learned that the source porphyry rock-body belongs to the series of typical island arc dacitic volcanic rocks, not adakite. The ore-bearing porphyry has the same magma source with wall-rock.4)The rules in enrichment of metallogenesis were studied on No.1ore body by Comparison and analysis between drilling data and information of geochemistry and geophysics. Favored geochemistry characterized by large abnormal scale, regular abnormal shape, obvious concentration center and Zoning. Favored geophysics characterized by low apparent resistivity and high apparent chargeability.5) Based on Similar analogy principle, and favorable metallogenic characteristics, to further narrow the target area of the belt No.2and No.3. It is concluded that southwest part of the2nd ore belt, eastern of No.3orebelt has the potential mineralization, suitable for further drilling verification.
