There are increasing numbers of human activities effecting land use, with the graduallydevelopment of the Yellow River delta and the quickly development of city. As the part of theecological environment, land use restricts the city development speed and the space of humanactivities. Deeply study of the landscape pattern of the Yellow River delta and Rationalplanning of various types of land have become the research focus at present. As the center cityof Yellow River Delta, the development is fast, the urbanization is significant, roadconstruction is well, and the wetlands characteristics is obvious. As a result, the urban landuse and road landscape pattern of Dongying City were chosen to analyze in this paper.According to the analysis, the landscape pattern of littoral plain and the impact of roadnetwork on the urbanization can be well analyzed. The result can be conductive to landconsolidation use and ecological land resources protection such as wetlands, and hasimportant meaning of rational land use and regional sustainable development. The land use space information, remote sensing data and the yearbook were chosen as themain data source and the GIS technology, remote sensing and landscape pattern analysis werechosen as the main methods. On the basis of the analysis of the whole city landscape pattern, the road landscape of city and urban were studied. Firstly the general land use situation ofDongying City in1987and2007were compared, and the landscape were studied onlandscape and class scale. The landscape connectivity of wetlands, beaches and saline-alkaliland which had obvious ecological characteristics was especially studied. And then the landuse of road marginal and the impact of road on the area according to establishing the bufferzones were analyzed in1987and2007, and the landscape pattern of the road buffer wascomparative analyzed on city scale. The gradients were divided into several zones by the roaddensity and construction land rate. On that basic the landscape was analyzed. Finally the RVindex was introduced to study the road interference degree and the influence of the regionaldevelopment on the administrative unit. The main conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1)The area of wetlands, cultivated land and construction land changed significantly from1987to2007. The result showed that the area of beaches and wetlands reduced largely in area, while that of the cultivated land and the construction land largely increased. The resultexplained the land use structure was affected by the expansion and oilfield development.According to the comparative analysis of different landscape pattern indexes, that the impactof human activities on the cultivated land, grassland, construction land and saline-alkali landwas obvious, and the construction land changed significantly which was most obviousaffected by human were concluded. The research of landscape connectivity of wetlandsreflected that the connectivity index decreased by the impact of the city development from1987to2007.(2) According to the analysis of the landscape index on city scale, the impact of the roadon land use in different years and the landscape features of marginal land use type of different distance to the road were studied. The result showed that road has impact of the segmentationof different land use type and irregularity of the patches. Road has serious impact on the landnearby, as a result the land use type should be considered while road building. The closerdistance to the road, the more serious interference of different types of land use landscape, thelandscape fragmentation and the landscape shape complexity. In the course of the constructionof the road in future, the structure of the road need to be optimized, then the optimization ofecological, economic and social benefits can be realized.(3) According to the analysis of the landscape index on urban scale, the gradients weredifferent into four groups of East zone, West zone, transitional zone, crisscross zone andsuburb area based on the road density and construction land use rate. The construction landuse type has superiority in west zone, the distribution of the landscape patches was brokenand scattered. The area of wetlands was increased from urban area to suburb area, which hadaccordance with that the bigger of the road density and construction land use rate, the moreserious of road segmentation. The result betterly reflected the landscape of wetlands andprovided suggestions for better distribution of land use in different gradient zone.(4) Through the introduction of RV (Roadless Volume) Index, the result reflecteddifferent kind land use type in different grades was different. The ecological land wasimpacted more seriously than other land use types. As the grade of road interference increased, the patches were decreased, the average plaques area were reduced. Road interference led tothe landscape fragmentation. This method qualitative and quantitative reflected therelationship of road, landscape patterns and land use, and reflected the influence degree ofroad interferences on the land use types.
