The Wu-Zheng-Dao area, northern Guizhou province, occurs at the northern part of the4th-order tectonic unit of the SN trend Fenggang Fold Belt, belonging to the fold-thrust zone of passive continental margin of the Upper Yangtze block. The Wu-Zheng-Dao area is dominated by fold and fold-related fault, which show NE to near N-S trend directions. Bauxite deposits in this area are exclusively preserved in syncline structures.A comprehensive study of stratigraphy of varied bauxite ore sections, features of ore-hosting synclines, ore types and their texture, structure and mineral component, and lithology and assemblage of host rocks has been carried out. Bauxite ore deposits in the strata sections display two types of ore-bearing lithological assemblage:clastic claystone with aluminous rock and ferruginous rock, clastic claystone with aluminous rock. Of them, the ore beds are located at the middle to upper part of the ore-bearing strata. Based on these field surveys,8target terrains for further ore prospecting are suggested. This work shows significance both in the theory for a further ore exploration in the region and in the practice for a purpose of great increase of Al-ore reserve and accelerating the construct of aluminous industrial base in the northern Guizhou.
