The k-out-of-n(G) system is make up n components, it functions as long as there are k or greater than k operational components. It is to say that when the failure component is equal to n-k+1then the system failure. The k-out-of-n(G) system is one of classical model in the mathematical theory of reliability. It has a very wide range of application in many engineering and others. In this paper, we studied the k-out-of-n(G) repairable system with single vacation of the repairman. Assume that the life length of each component has exponential distribution, and the repair time of each failed component and vacation time of repairman have continuous distributions. By using the supplementary variable method and the Laplace transform, it is discussed the availability and failure frequency of the system, the mean time of the first failure. And the recursion expressions of these reliability indices are obtained. Addition, we discussed four special cases of the system k=1, n=2and k=n and the n-unit series system, the n-unit parallel system. Finally, we give the n-unit parallel system a numerical analysis.
