The shale gas of Silurian of Lower Yangtze area has good prospect in theexploration, however the tectonic background is complex.There is bigger differencebetween this area and the American’ typical shale gas basin in geochemicalparameters and shale gas accumulation characteristics.based on the field profilesobservation, chip identification, electronic probe, scanning electron microscope andother samples analysis test data, from the types of sedimentary facies, organicgeochemical characteristics, shale mineral composition characteristics, reservoir spacecharacteristics, obtain the following several important research results from systemstudy of this area.Firstly: according to the sign of sedimentary facies, through the finesedimentary facies analysis, there is a sedimentary facies type in the lower Yangtzeregion at Silurian, according to the topography and water power and other factors intothe shallow,they can be Further divided into shelf subfacies and deep shelf facies, thesedimentary microfacies are mainly shallows microfacies and shelf mud microfacies.Secondly: The shale gas of Silurian of Lower Yangtze area is extensive range andthe large thickness, high organic matter content, they provide sufficient materialbasisorganic for the gas shale reservoirs matter content. strong structure have asignificant impact on The shale gas of Silurian of Lower Yangtze area. Thegeochemical characteristics of The shale gas of Silurian of Lower Yangtze areashowed that organic type is Ⅱ,high maturity Is over mature stages generate pyrolysisgas, Organic matter abundance is higher.Thirdly: Reservoir space mainly are the machine quality (asphalt) hole, mineralshole, organic matter and mineral of the cracks and pore, between dissolve seam, etc.Fourthly: On the basis of shale shale thickness, the content of organic carbon,organic matter maturity, organic types, brittle mineral content, the degree of fracture development, forecasted gas favorable exploration area in the shale gas of Silurian ofLower Yangtze area on two aspects of angry and storage capacity.
