Mafic and ultramafic layered intrusions in the Pan-Xi(Panzhihua-Xichang) area, along the western in of the Yangtze block, are well known in the world for their hosting numerous V-Ti. Regional north-south trunk fracture tectonic belt long-term activities and east-west folded basement, constitute the basic characteristics of the structure of panxi area, the containing ore rock mass exhibition of Hongge was strict control by the north-south fracture structure belt of Xigeda. The rock mass of Hongge generation era about200Ma. It is consistent with the main eruption period of Emeishan basalt, both of them are the production of homologous and out-of-phase in process of magma evolution.The containing ore magma through the the west side tectonic channels of the rock mass (may be the ancient faulted structure of An Linghe) rising under the control of the roofs greenschist and the bottom’s metamorphic rocks, along the tectonic weak position of the Xi-type structural system of the mining area invading the sinian Dengying Group carbonate rock layer such as the limestone, dolomite, marble and so on, which nature active, joints and fissures are extremely well-developed, it shows the ore-bearing characteristics of the sinian Dengying Group carbonate rock.The ore-bearing magma which is penetration through the magma crystallization differentiation formed the layered rock mass, and many times pulsing magmatic intrusion in the same period make rhythmic structure characteristic of rock mass extremely developing. From the bottom to up, the rock can be divided into three lithofacies belt and four Ⅱ-class rhythm cycles, pyroxenite lithofacies belt mineralization of the best, olivine pyroxenite lithofacies belt, the worst of the gabbro lithofacies belt, the ore body focused on the rhythm of the lower or bottom, nothing to do with the rock types. The ore-bearing rock mass of Hongge petrology characteristics show that the rock mass is strongly lack of SiO2, rich in Fe2O3, FeO, TiO2, belong to poor alkali-alkali, poor calcium-calcium, low aluminum-aluminum, iron and basic-ultra rock mass. The Fe, V, TiO2which are mineral beneficial component, the relationship with SiO2is inversely proportional, Fe and V showed better proportional linear relationship.The rock mass layer of Hongge with vanadium titanium magnetite deposit may be of three types:①late magmatic crystallization differentiation type, with layered ore rock in stratiform ore bodies as the representative, ore structure with sparse dense disseminated ore, ore body and wall rock is transitional, the type, scale is the largest, most industrial significance;②magmatic liquation type, stratoid and lenticular output, ore body and wall rock is in abrupt contact, the type of high-grade ore, mostly with sideronitic texture thick leaching ore, common compact massive ore associated;③penetration rock slurry fractionated type, for the latter part of penetration in ultra mafic dyke in banded ore, ore and ore rock occur alternately, arranged in parallel, with direction and rock occurrence is consistent.The ore-bearing rock of Hongge has a close relationship with Emeishan basalt, syenite and granite on the spatial and temporal, these indicates the prospecting direction on the east side periphery of the mining area, at the same time, we should pay more attention to the range where carbonate rocks are exposed.
