MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small noncoding RNAs that about22bases and play important gene-regulatory roles by pairing to the mRNAs ofprotein-coding genes to direct their post transcriptional repression. As one of the mostimportant regulators in mamals, miRNA was found in almost all the fundamental lifeprocesses, including cell cycle, differentiation of stem cells, development of cancer, programmed cell death, metabolism, development and maintenance of nervous system. In eukaryotes, about30%genes are regulated by miRNAs, including transcriptionalfactors, enzymes and signal proteins. Given the diversity and abundance of miRNAtargets, miRNAs appear to functionally interact with various components of manycellular networks and format more complex biological networks.Although extensive research has made in microRNA biology, most of theseresearch focused on proving some particular genes are regulated by miRNA orunderstanding the logic relationship among several components, we think most ofthese are only understandings at molecular level. In a larger scale, we still do notunderstand how miRNA interact with other signal pathway and format more complexpathway. By mining published articles, we obtained a group of molecular interactiondata that involved most signal pathway and the microRNA expression profile in humanhippocampal neuron. Based on these data, we predicted the microRNA targets in thosecomponents using target prediction software TargetScan, PITA, Miranda; then weconstructed two networks from these data using Cytoscape, the first network is themodel of the fundamental signal pathway in human hippocampal neuron, the other oneis the former one combined with345miRNA and their targets interaction. The analysisand computation of these two networks show that, microRNA interact with other signalmainly through regulate enzyme, transcriptional factor and adapter in that pathwaythese interaction format a more complex network with different parameters.
