Cultural relics site s an important kind of information in the study of ancient history, artand development of science and technology. So the protection and research of the site ofcultural relics is most important. On the one hand, with the passing of time the historicalrelics is being a degree of damage, need the digital protection. On the other hand, to spreadthe historical culture around the world and promote its cultural tourism value, need realisticdigital display technology. To the demand for cultural relics site and digital archaeologicalresearch, this paper mainly discusses the research and application status of digitalarchaeological technology at home and abroad on the background of DAZU Thousand HandBuddha in ChongQing, researching the General method of3D date acquisition, dataprocessing, model reconstruction to historical relics.This paper mainly research works are as follows:1)This paper first introduced the research status of ground3d laser scanning technologyat home and abroad, summarizing the characteristics of the technology and application field,briefly describes the working principle of the3D laser scanning system, and brieflyintroduced the type of hardware equipment and data acquisition technology.2)Detail introduced Faro and CIM CORE3D laser scanner and post-processingsoftware Geomagic and polyworks, and use of3d scanning technology get point cloud dataof DAZU Thousand Hand Buddha in ChongQing. And discuss the research of preprocessingtechniques such as point cloud data denoising, simplified and grids pretreatment technology.3) Briefly introduced the joint arm type coordinate measuring machine geographicframework and its mathematical model.4) Cultural relics site of realistic3D reconstruction, and mainly studies the ancient site3D model of the two kinds of post processing technology, namely ancient site3D model ofthe triangular mesh repair technology and mesh simplification technology. Use of reverseengineering software Geomagic Studio rapid modeling, are detailed in the model describesthe point cloud data reconstruction process optimization method, introduces the practicalpoint clouds and polygon editor processing technology, and ancient site model group of the comb ination, built a complete model. Finally st udy the realism processing of the3D model.
