The Construction Of Mesoscale Forecasting Model Platform Based On Cluster System

The numerical model is an important means for meteorological research and application. On the continuous efforts of the Meteorologists and scholars,the numerical model especially in mesoscale numerical model has become increasingly mature. With the development of IT technology, mesoscale numerical model has been widely applied in meteorological system.MM5(Fifth-generation Penn. State/Near Mesoscale by Model) is the most extensive application. MM5is suitable for limited area. The model is complex and the fine weather forecast service is developmenting.They both require higher computing ability of the operational platform.This paper discusses the mesoscale numerical model and parallel computing technology.Then it compares the technical features of various cluster.In accordance with the actual needs, builds a cluster system based on Linux to meet the installation operation of MM5mode. Construct a mesoscale numerical weather prediction model computing platform in the Meteorological Bureau of Jiangxi Province. At last this paper introduces the concrete realization process.
