The Marine GIS is increasingly popular in GIS field with the fact that the development and exploitation of Ocean receives considerable concerns and attentions. The primary problem of Marine GIS is the understanding of ocean phenomena. With the fast development of remotesensing technology, it has become the main data source. Remote sensing research has been gradually change from visual interpretation and computer based classification to inversion in remote sensing. The research focus of Marine GIS is to extract information about ocean phenomena based on inversion from satellite imaginary. The paper discussed two mapping ways according to two different models-vector and raster which are derived from inversion information. In vector model, it focused on the surface current mapping and other special vector elements. In raster model, it concentrates on the principle and implementation of non-uniform rendering.Ocean remote sensing data is under global scales, in order to meet Marine remote sensing data management and analysis needs, it is necessary us to import hexagonal grids into the demonstration of information from inversion. That is to say, we need to convert the raster model to hexagonal grids model. This paper discusses how to use hexagonal grids model to explain remote sensing inversion information. Because such research is still in its infancy, this paper only discusses the realization of an important early work-the global expression of hexagonal grids structure. At last, the paper provides a broad overview of the functions of system platform module design, automatic identification mapping, three-dimensional display and features such as implementation volume graphics.
