| Yilan-Yitong fracture, whose segments of Jilin Province belongs to its southernsection, is north along the Tancheng-Lujiang fracture. NE-trending throughout JilinProvince, Yilan-Yitong fracture is one of the largest fracture within the scope of JilinProvince. Previous studies have generally agreed that the latest activity of Yilan-Yitongfault is era early Quaternary, but not the active faults. In2010, the fracture of Heilongjiangsegment had been under detailed investigation by China seismological bureau ofgeological research institute and Jilin Provincial Seismological Bureau, concluded that thelatest activity of Tonghe fault in Heilongjiang occurred near the late Pleistocene, that issaying the fracture of Tonghe belongs to active faults. This finding subverts theunderstanding that Yilang-Yitong fault is not active faults. So we have to re-study theactivity of fracture in Jilin Province. In this article, Yilang-Yitong fracture is under detailed study from regional context, seismic activity, fault segmentation and fault activity. Research suggests that in JilinProvince, area of earthquakes is obviously spread along the Yilang–Yitong fault andadjacent eastern margin of Songliao Basin. Since records began, the distribution of smallearthquakes along the Yilang-Yitong fault zone is obvious. Yilang-Yitong fault zone isone of the main seismogenic structure in Jilin Province. According to previous data onfracture geometry, remote sensing image, Yilang-Yitong fault in Jilin Province can bebroadly divided into three sections, its activities were,①the west branch of South Yitongsegment is early Quaternary, east branch the Quaternary fault;②the west branch and eastbranch of Yitong–Jilin are both early Quaternary fault;③the west branch of Jilin-Shulan segment is late Quaternary active faults, the east branch is as early as Quaternary. Finally, according to the segmentation and activities, we has drawn a distribution map ofYilang-Yitong fault segment in Jilin Province, and the figure can be used as a referencemap of project site, seismic planning near Yilang-Yitong fracture in Jilin Province. |
