Winch is an important component part of the drilling system in ChineseContinental Scientific Drilling, which could complete most of the drilling operations,such as lifting and laying down derrick, drilling tools and running casing, evencontrolling drilling pressure, treating well accidents and so on. However, once thewinch system emerges questions, the consequences would be unimaginable. In thecondition of practical drilling, vibration and noise could be caused by the imbalancetorque of the winch, the self-excited vibration of wire ropes and the moment of inertiaof each system. While the winch lifts heavy loads, the system of high speed start oremergency brake is taken, which could lead to severer consequences, so that thestability and reliability of the winch could be seriously affected. Combined with theproject of deep continental scientific drilling, this article describes following parts:(1) The whole scheme of the winch system has been determined. Two1400kWhigh-power AC motors are symmetrically arranged on both ends of the winch. It couldachieve the goal of shifting by stepless speed regulation of the AC motors, in themeantime, it could realize Load lifting and transferring by electric machinepositive-negative rotating. While hydraulic disc brake is used in the main brake,motor energy consumption braking is used in the auxiliary brake.(2) The design of winch hoisting system has been completed. The design andrelative parameters of the components, such as the steel wire rope, winch drum, crownblock, traveling block, have been completed according to relative standards.(3) Dynamic analysis has been carried out on winch hoisting system. First, thephysical model of lifting system is established and simplified, and then it is solvedwith the software of MATLAB.(4) The simulation research has been carried out on winch hoisting system. Thewinch hoisting system is carried on the model analysis. At last, the key factorsaffecting the stability of the hoisting system are analyzed in the simulation. (5) The strength of critical parts has been checked. Finite Element Analysis (FEA)is used to check the strength of critical parts.All in all, the dynamic characters and the main influence are obtained and theresults suggest that emergency brake should be avoided as far as possible during thewinch hoisting, in addition, increasing the stiffness of wire rope and improving thecontrol characteristics of the motor should raise the stability and reliability of winchhoisting system. The results are important to further improvement of the equipmentsand newer generation of equipments.
