With the rapid development of seismic observation network, every station isreal-time sending and recording the seismic data, there are a lot of record dataaccumulated,the analyzers always expecting the automatic processing come true andthe method is credible. Big earthquake can destroy everything and the scientist stillcan not forecast, so people have to pay more attention to build the earthquake warningsystem. No matter the real-time automatic processing system and early warningsystem, they are all base on the credible automatic seismic event detection and phaseidentification.This paper sums up the general seismic event detection and phase identificationmethods. Focusing on applying high order statistics method (skewness and kurtosis)and AIC method to detect earthquake event and identify direct P-wave phaseautomatically. What I have done is:1.In order to restrain noise and improve Signal Noise Ratio of sampled data, aelliptical band-pass filter is designed.2.This paper puts forward two kinds of method on detecting earthquake eventbased on high order statistics method(skewness and kurtosis),and the paper discussesmovement of the lifting mechanism and develops a program by MATLAB to analyzeand calculate the actual application. Based on fifty seismic events data of ShandongSeismic Network,we got the seismic event trigger value. Studied results show thatthese methods are very effective to identify earthquake event, and may effectivelyreduce rate of error alarm and rate of miss report;kurtosis method is superior toskewness method.3.This paper puts forward two kinds of method on detecting earthquake eventand identifying direct P-wave phase based on high order statistics method and AICmethod,and the paper discusses movement of the lifting mechanism and develops aprogram by MATLAB to analyze and calculate the actual application.Studied resultsshow that: we found that phases identification are accurate using above twomethods,but Kur-AIC method is superior to Ske-AIC method.
