Pulsar is a kind of neutron star with stable self-rotation and strong magnetic field. Its most important property is the precise period of the signal it radiates, which can offer position, velocity, and accurate time navigation information for the spacecrafts in near-earth orbit, geostationary orbit, elliptic orbit or interplanetary orbit. X-ray pulsar navigation therefore has an extremely important military use and wide application prospect.X-ray pulsar navigation simulation system software mainly includes communication interface software, X-ray pulsar signal transmitter and receiver host computer software. On the basis of an overview of the background and basic principles of pulsar navigation, this paper gives a main design of the simulation system software, and then designs the USB firmware, USB device driver, host computer software, navigation and positioning algorithm in Linux environment. Finally, the test result of simulation system software shows that the software of simulation system meets the design requirements, which has a referential significance to X-ray pulsar navigation technology research.
