In this paper, using the related theory of petroleum geology as a guide, on the basis ofthe former research and the data of geology, drilling, logging, analysis test and paleontologydata, stratigraphic correlation and division of Chang6formation, fine explaining ofcontexture; analyzing sedimentary facies, including turbidite provenance, the plane distirbutioncharacteristic of sedentary microfacies, evolutionary rule of sedimentation; reservoircharacteristics are also studied, and the classification and evaluation criteria of reservoir isproposed; providing the scientific prediction of the geology on expanding exploration andforecasting oil favourable object.Turbidite fan deposition system is mainly developed of chang6reservoir in shangzheziaera, turbidite fan microfacies is the skeleton of the study area and the skeletal sand bodies ofthe petroleum reservoir The development of the sand body is completely controlled bysedimentary facies distribution, phases of deposition have a good inheritance. Atfer acomprehensive study of the study area,chang6sandstone reservoir is divided into betterreservoir of class I,good reservoir of Class II,medium reservoir of class III,poorreservoir of IV class. Class III reservoir of chang6is mainly developed, and based on theabove research optimizing favorable exploration blocks.
