| This is a comprehensive study regarding multi-source, multi-temporal,multi-scale remote sensing data as a data source, making geographic informationsystem as data processing platform, being directed by the remote sensing geologicaltheory and hydro geological theory, applying the3S technology system into karstwater resources exploration and evaluation work, The purpose is outlining new watersources with adequate water supply and summarizing an application methodology ofapplying3S technology into the evaluation of karst water resource exploration,achieving the organic combination of3S technology and hydro geological.Collection, collation, research, synthesis and integration of existing informationand dates have been done in the beginning of this study. Secondly, it should to makefull use of powerful data acquisition capabilities of remote sensing technology andcomplete hydrological remote sensing interpretation with the help of field marks andfield inspection being directed by GPS. These preparations can help to quickly andaccurately obtain the basic hydrological information——including lithologic elements,geological structure elements, spring location elements, and surface water system-basin elements. Then, making GIS as a platform as its powerful data processingcapabilities and conducting a comprehensive analysis of the basis of hydrogeologicalinformation should been done to outlining new water sources with adequate watersupply. Finally, an application methodology of applying3S technology into theevaluation of karst water resource exploration will be summarized according to theprevious studies process. The outcome of this study will enhance the level ofhigh-tech applications of karst water resources exploration, improve work efficiencyand save human, material and financial resources.There are two innovations of this research. One is the real outcomes. It hasoutlined two new water supply sources, Yukou and Huamu. These two supply sourceshave a recharge area with at least142million square groundwater recharge annual,and it is available to160million urban residents. Also, there is a new understandingon the hydrogeological conditions of the study area. Redrawing the karst groundwater system of the study area has been finished too. What’s more, it has improved the levelbasic geological study in the study area and Fixed some existing data error. Another istechnical method. An application methodology of applying3S technology into theevaluation of karst water resource exploration has been conducted to direct other karstwater resources exploration and evaluation work and enhance the level of high-techapplications of karst water resources exploration. The study also improves thetechnical aspects of the remote sensing work and establishes a set of interpretationsigns about spring location in Northern China where there are strong human activitiesaccording to the actual situation.The Research has answered two scientific questions. The first one is where tofind new water supply source in Beijing, another is how to find new water supplysource in Beijing. |
