This thesis has first introduced the properties of the resonant states and some methods on researching resonance. Then, the complex scaling method (CSM) and its application to the resonances was introduced. Finally, in the framework of relativistic mean field theory (RMF) theory, we have studied the single-particle resonant states of spherical nuclei by the complex scaling method. This paper mainly includes the following aspects:1) We have explained what is the resonant states, and introduced the development of the resonant states, and some methods on the researches for the resonances.2) We have briefly introduced the RMF theory. In the framework of the relativistic mean field theory, we have introduced the complex scaling method for studying the resonant states of atomic nuclei.3) We have studied the single-particle resonant states for spherical nuclei with the RMF-CSM approach. Pb and Ni isotopes are chosen as examples, we have demonstrated how to search the resonant states with the RMF-CSM approach. We have determined the energies and widths for all the possible resonant states of201-212Pb and58-84Ni by the method of θ trajectory of resonance parameters. We have investigated in details the properties of the or Pb and Ni isotopes, and found that the energies and widths of the resonant states decrease with the increasing of the nuclear mass number for the two chains.
