Xujiaweizi fault depression is a half graben-like depression controlled by the Xu Xifault and Songxi fault, located in the southeastern rift zone of Songliao Basin, whichis fault in the west and overlapping in the east. The target formation of this paper isShahezi formation of lower Cretaceous. The drilling data is not enough and the distribution is not uniform for degree ofexploration is low now. This paper will study the sedimentary faces of Shaheziformation including how many types of faces and microfacies in Shahezi formationand its controlling factor to predict the next step exploration blocks, deposition phasesystematic study on sedimentary face of Shahezi formation in Xujiaweizi rift guidemainly by the theory of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, logging geology, seismic stratigraphy and seismic sedimentology, integrated application to core, logging and seismic data. The reach process contains interpretation of top andbottom, segmentation scheme of Shahezi formation, sandstone and conglomerate andmudstone thickness distribution, faces analysis of twenty-two wells which drilledthrough Shahezi Formation, completed Shahezi upper and lower sedimentary faciesdistribution on the basis of the ratio of sands and seismic attribute analysis.Studies suggest that the Xujiaweizi rift’s internal structure showing belt structure ineast-west direction, and the block structure in north-south direction which iscontrolled by fracture and bottom structure. There is mainly fan delta, braided riverdelta and lake sediments three sedimentary faces and20kinds of microfacies types.Shahezi main reservoir thick layer of sandstone and conglomerate and thecombination of sandstone and conglomerate, sandstone and conglomerate mainlydeveloped in the braided channel and underwater distributary channel microfacies. The main source rocks lacustrine dark mudstones. Comprehensive analyzed structuralfactors, deposition distribution, reservoir and source rocks, this study choose fourfavorable targets.
