There are32layer sharply inclined coal seams with different thickness and spacebetween seams in Xiaohonggou Mine, the main seams, which is B1~2and B3~6, are specialthick coal seams, and their dip angle are87°~89°, horizontal slicing-and-caving was adoptedabove the mine goaf in the old mining area, there must be have part of float coal residue inmine goaf, the continuous mining in working place and the bigger area in mine goaf offeredthe conditions for the supply of oxygen and for the oxidation of coal residue, the largeproduction capacity and the slow propulsion speed of working face offered the time forthermogenesis during the oxidation of coal residue, and the spontaneous combustion easilyhappens in the coal seam of Xiaohongou Mine, so the spontaneous combustion in goaf andthe burnback of spontaneous ignition still influence on the process of mining, which isthreatening the safety production of mine, and which is also the main reason on restricting thehigh production and the high efficiency of Xiaohongou Mine.The characteristics and rules were concluded by investigating and analyzing the localedata, and the reason on spontaneous combustion in Xiaohonggou Mine also was investigatedand analyzed by combining the seam geological characteristics with the practical miningtechnology of Xiaohonggou Mine.The observation data was obtained by using the experiment of programmed temperaturerise to simulate coal seam spontaneous combustion process and combining the sitemonitoring using buried tube, the mechanism of spontaneous combustion on sharp inclinedand thick coal seam was deeply investigated, the spontaneous combustion "Three Zones" ingoaf in fully mechanized caving face of Xiaohonggou Mine and the index gases forpredicting the spontaneous combustion were found. And the characteristics of forecastmethods on site spontaneous combustion in Xiaohonggou Mine were analyzed, the methodsynthesizing several forecast technologies was proposed.Through the reasonable choice of forecast method for spontaneous combustion fire, theeffects of fire prevention and extinguishing on the sharp inclined and thick coal seam miningin Xiaohonggou Mine can be improved efficiently, and the overall level of fire prevention and extinguishing also can be enhanced, this method has important instructive significance for thedevelopment and the safety production of Xiaohonggou Mine.
