Volatile organic pollutants has seriously affected people’s health and materialproduction, VOCs will cause indoor air syndrome, including mucosal irritation, headache and fatigue, and has a series of carcinogenic substances. such as formaldehyde, acrolein. millions of people suffer from volatile organic pollution, what ismore, hundreds of millions of dollars in economic losses (WHO,1989; USEPA,1990,environmental health assessment office,2007)Nowadays, there are two new methods of processing VOCS, namely, photocatalysis process. However, till now, the methods is under test. Compared with thetraditional processing methods, the photocatalysis process have advantages such assimple processing technic, low cost and so on. In this article,we make use of the VUVlight which has shorter wavelength and more energy and we take toluene as theprocessing target, analyse the processing of VOCs by photocatalysis process andsummarize the factors which effect the processing.During the test,we have changed the operating conditions of the reactor,In the end,the result of test indicts that increasings of both the VUV light and the time which gasremines in the reactor contribute to the production of radicals to improve tolueneconservation. The most effective movement of toluene will reached69%, When the RHform45%to60%, Residence time is25s,Entrance concentration of toluene is60mg/m3Meanwhile,the adsorption-photocatalytic system composed by TiO2catalysts load onγ-Al2O3,have more effective movement of toluene. When the entrance concentrationsfrom400mg/m3increased to800mg/m3, the removal of toluene decreases drop from 42%to34%, and with glass beads as the carrier, under the same conditions on tolueneremoval rate drop from37%to18%what’s more,it able to larger changes in the load TheVUV and UVC light in the system can also reduce the concentration of ozone.
