Vitamin E with anti-aging, improving the immunity, having auxiliary therapyeffect to cerebrovascular diseases has an extensive application in the pharmaceuticalindustry, health care products industry, food industry, and cosmetics industry. For along time, the international market demand to vitamin E has been an steady growthtrend. At present, Synthetic Vitamin E is based on trimethylhydroquinone and isophytolas raw materials. The catalyst are hydrochloride and zinc chloride. But many problems inthe production process need further-more overcome such as a large amount ofcatalyst, serious corrosion of equipment and large amounts of wastewater. Based on this, this paper could be the following:(1) Qualitative and quantitative analysis method of Vitamin E acetate was studied inthis paper. The synthetic Vitamin E acetate was qualitative analyzed by TLC and GC.The synthetic Vitamin E acetate was quantitative analyzed by GC. The linear curve wasstudied also, and the results show that the linear correlation was0.9999,the regressionequation was y=0.51132x.(2) Experiments were divided into two parts:one was condensation process;theother was esterification process. Preparation of Vitamin E is studied in this paper.Sythesized Vitamin E is based on trimethylhydroquinone and isophytol as rawmaterials. The phosphoric acid catalyst system, toluene sulfonic acid catalyst system, sulfuric acid catalyst system were studied. Sulfuric acid catalyst system was detailedstudied which consist of sulfuric acid and ionic liquid catalytic system, sulfuric acid andacidic oxide catalytic system, sulfuric acid and metal salt catalytic system. Thefollowing factors were considered in this process: reaction temperature and the amountof catalyst. With trimethylhydroquinone and isophytol as raw materials, Vitamin E wasprepared in the presence of catalysts of sulfuric acid and copper sulfates.Effects ofvarious conditions were studied. The optimum conditions were when the amout oftrimethylhydroquinone2.5g,the amout of isophytol5.0g, amount of sulfuric acid1.2mL,amout of copper sulfates0.12g,reaction temperature: The first stage reaction2hours at0℃,the second stage2hours at30℃,the third stage1hour at63℃. The yieldof Vitamin E acetate was about82.62%.(3) Preparation of Vitamin E acetate was studied in this paper. The following factors were considered in this process: reaction time and the amount of NaBH4.The optimum conditions were the amount of NaBH40.40g,reaction temperature120~130℃,reaction time3h.The yield of Vitamin E acetate was84.25%.
