Electroforming is a precise processing method based on the principle of electro-deposition,which has high copy accuracy and reproducible accuracy. Now it has been successfully applied in theareas of weapon, aviation and aerospace, precision mould, MEMS and so on.Reflective-cup is a typical axially symmetrical part. Uneven distribution of electrical field andweaken the deposition on the low place of the edge of parts occur in the electroforming ofreflective-cup. To solve these problems, this paper carried out electrical field simulation andexperimental research of electroforming reflective-cup. The following work has been done fouraspects:(1) A reflective-cup electroforming device has been designed, including transmission system,temperature control system, liquid filtration system, reservoir, and platform and so on.(2)In order to enhance uniformity of layers of reflective cup, the analytical software ANSYS wasused to simulate the electrical field and optimize the anode, pictographic anode and auxiliary anodewas added to improve the electrical field.(3) Plate anode, pictographic anode and auxiliary anode was used to research of electroformingnickel reflective-cup. The results showed that the non-uniformity thickness of electroforming layerswas improved largely. Reflective-cup part with high surface quality has been produced withAbrasion-assisted Precision Electroforming.(4) Reflective-cup part with good quality has been produced with step by step electroformingmethod.
