Base on control and prediction of grinding process, this paper deals with research on wheeltopography model and concerned experiments. As the random way of acting between wheel ofstochastic abrasives and workpiece, we can’t actually control and predict the grinding process. Therefore, based on the idea of order distributed abrasives, this paper tries to establish wheeltopography model in accordance with machining demands and grinding parameters as well asoptimize grinding parameters in accordance with topography and machining demands. The mainresearch works are included as follows:(1) The related objective function of the specific energy and restrictive function of average heatflux in the grinding zone, surface roughness and chip space ratio and accomplishes the theoreticalmodel of wheel topography are determined. This model can be generally used by wheels owningdefined grains structure.(2) Through single grit grinding, the change law of single grit grinding force under normal andhigh speed grinding is studied. Besides, t the relationship between single grit tangential force andsingle grit chip thickness to determine the factors of wheel topography model is established.(4) Based on the grinding character and wheel topography, the wheel topography model isresolved. Meanwhile, the monolayer brazed CBN duplicate wheel used for grinding Nickel Basedsuperalloy GH4169is also developed. According the results of analyzing the grinding force andspecific energy, this paper compares the different structure of wheel topography. Besides, this paperpresents the theoretical results of grinding parameters and also compares with the experimental resultsto investigate the reliability of wheel topography model.
