The research of(3|-)D braided materials is almost concentrated in(3|-)D4-stepsbraiding and(3|-)D2-steps braiding and(3|-)D multi-direction braiding methods.(3|-)D multi-direction braiding process is based on(3|-)D4-step. The species of(3|-)D braided materialsare less, and their researches are very limited. The novel braided technology need to befurther developed.Researchers of our group developed(3|-)D braided material based on spacegroup P(3|-)symmetry by using symmetry group to research geometric structure ofbraided materials. Two kinds of braiding process had been developed by analyzingyarn crossover method in the geometric structure of this material. The space trajectoryof yarn in tubular braided materials, which were based on the two kinds of braidingprocess, was studied, and the simulation models of unit cell and preforms wereestablished. The second braiding process that may soon be used in modern industrywas selected to design technological equipment and do research in the laboratory.The features of the second braiding process of(3|-)D braided material based onspace group P(3|-)symmetry was studied, and the plan of movement and drivingmechanism of yarn carriers in braiding workbench was proposed, and the structure ofyarn carrier, driver and matrix such as main parts of the braiding workbench as well asmechanism of making workbench continuous working was designed.(3|-)D model ofmain components from the braiding workbench was established.On the basis of the descriptions of this braiding process, columnar braidedmaterial based on space group P(3|-)symmetry was braided by using test device. Thegeometric structure and path of yarn crossing agreed the simulation model structuresimilarly, which illustrated that the process of(3|-)D braided material based on spacegroup P(3|-)symmetry from this paper was accurate and feasible.According to the simplified geometric model of unit cell from(3|-)D tubular braided material based on space group P(3|-)symmetry, a mathematical model, in which thebraiding process parameters were variables and the fiber volume percentage contentwas the objective function, was established, and then the fiber volume percentagecontent of this material was forecasted.
