Gas explosion is one of the main natural disasters in coal mines, being strongly destructive and sudden. The study of gas explosion inhibition is always the domestic hot spots. In practice how to use powder materials, it has the extremely vital significance for gas explosion calamity prevention and control.This article discussed the development and application situation about the technical of all kinds of powder suppression from the the suppression mechanism and theory of the powder. Using20L nearly spherical stainless steel explosion experiment system to test the powder, we tested the largest gas explosion pressure and maximum pressure rise rate with additives of ultra-fine ABC dry powder and diatomite powder, compared and analyzed the explosion suppression effect of the two powders;"orthogonal design" was used to study the explosion suppression parameters of mixed powder,and obtain optimal experimental program.The experimental results show that:two powders suppress gas explosion and the ABC dry powder are superior to diatomite powder. The explosion suppression of ultra-fine ABC dry powder has a little effect with the methane concentration, but diatomite powder suppressed obviously with the high methane concentrations. optimal experiment solution was obtained, optimum powder is ABC dry powder, optimum explosion suppresion is200mg/L, optimum mixing ration is2:1, optimum ignition delay time is30s, explosion suppression effect of the powder when methane concentration is different was tested under optimal conditions, and the effect of powder to the three explosion parameters is similar,after adding ABC dry powder, the average range of fall of the maximum explosion pressure of methane Pm was24.75%, the average range of fall of the maximum pressure rise rate (dp/dt) m was64.76%, the average range of increase of the pressure peak time T was53.13%, that means the explosion suppression performance of ABC dry powder is better under optimal experiment solution.The experiments data and conclusions has an important significance to the application in mine by using ABC dry powder and diatomite, and then provide a guidance for further studying on the new explosion suppressant and its explosion mechanism.
