Magnesium-aluminum alloy could oxidation-burn and explode easily during the meltingand molding process. and it also bring some great harm under the production, because of itsactive chemical properties. So it is necessary for us to investigate the mechanism ofmagnesium-aluminum alloy dust oxidation burning and explosion and master thecharacteristics of dust explosion. In this paper, magnesium-aluminum alloy dusts are studiedexperimentally by using 20L spherical explosion device. The main work and conclusions areas follows:(1) By using the experimental device, the lower explosive limit of Mg-Al alloy powderwas studied. The experimental results show: 200 order, 150order, 80 order size limits were25g/m~3、g/m~3、85g/m~3. Different diameter dust explosion lower limit is different, smaller size,lower explosion limit is lower, the greater the harm, exploration of concentration, particle sizeand ignition energy on dust explosion pressure law. With the increase of the concentration ofdust, the maximum explosion pressure increases first and then decreases. 200 heads of grainsize in 850 g/m~3peak, 80 heads of grain size in 1000g/m~3peak. In a certain range, the smallerthe particle size, the smaller peak concentrations, in the same size, the greater the ignitionenergy, peak concentrations are also smaller. (2) Using the set of experiment device, exploration of inert dust on magnesium alloydust explosion pressure. Experiment results show that: Sodium chloride powder as the inertmedium: the 80 purpose of alloy powder, when sodium chloride concentration is 30%, thealloy powder will not explode, On150 mesh and a 200 alloy powder, sodium chlorideconcentration is 60%, the alloy powder will not explode. Using calcium carbonate powder asthe inert medium, Particle diameter of 5μm than 40μm calcium carbonate calcium carbonateon alloy powder explosion suppression effect is more obvious. Sodium chloride powder andcalcium carbonate powder on magnesium powder explosion has a very good inhibitory effect.
