The influence of sodium bromide on the micellization of the surfactant, the interactions between surfactants and polymer, the effect of sodium bromide on the interaction between surfactants and polymer have been studied by measurements of isothermal titration calorimetry, fluorescence, conductance and turbidity. This study includes three systems:①the sodium bromide/1-dodecyl-3-methyllimidazolium bromide /ι-carrageenan system;②the dodecyltrimethy--lammonium bromide/ι-carrageenan system;③the ethyl-α,ω-bis(dodecydimethylammonium bromide/ι-carrageenan system. A pseudo -phase-equilibrium thermodynamic model was proposed to successfully explain the experimental results of the three systems.
