This thesis was based in PAE binary wet strength system, and attempted to introduce sodium alginate (SA) for the anionic additives. Development of a binary system of the PAE/SA binary wet-strength agent. And compared with PAE binary system at home and abroad. And then further studied the effect of the types of pulp, pulp beating degree, pH of slurry and filled talc or calcium carbonate for the PAE and SA ratio and enhancement. Finally, by means of scanning electron microscopy and the potentiometric titration of the PAE/SA binary wet strength system enhancement mechanism. The main conclusions of the paper were as follows.①The best viscosity of SA effected with PAE was near in350mPa· S, and the best ratio of PAE:SA was3:2. And the optimum dosage of PAE and SA were0.90%and0.60%. The dry and wet tensile strength of handsheets were respectively104.1N· m/g and45.6N· m/g. Compared with a separate add PAE to achieve maximum dry and wet tensile strength were increased by25.2%and165%.②Types of pulp beating degree, pH, and to be filled with talc or calcium carbonate, the best ratio of the PAE/SA binary system in enhancement had a significant impact. And PAE/SA enhance the magnitude of the binary system for softwood pulp mixed waste paper pulp was better than softwood pulp. And then the PAE/SA binary system for the enhancement of softwood pulp beating degree was about35°SR. The PAE/SA binary system was more suitable for alkaline papermaking. The best filled point of talc was after the PAE/SA filled point, but the best addition point of the calcium carbonate was before the PAE/SA filled point.③The effect of filled with PAE/SA binary wet strength system was better than adding a separate PAE because of the SA to promote the crosslinking reaction of the PAE and the fiber surface groups. And formed a layer of anti-water film on the cellulose surface. And through the potential titration showed that in PAE of0.75%, the amount of SA between0.2%-0.5%, the charge of slurry was significantly weak negative charge. And the wet tensile strength of handsheets enhancement showed that the weak negatively charged environment in favor of PAE and the retention of fine fiber and PAE with-COOH group cross-linking reaction.
