In industry field, in the circulating operation of cooling water, some problems occurred, such as overproducing of bacteria and alga. At present, the most method to controlling the microorganisms in the circulating cooling water is adding antiseptic. If bactericides are used for a long time, this will result in the anti-bactericide capability of microorganisms, on the other hand, with the strict regulation for environment protection, it is necessary to develop a new high efficient bactericide which causes few secondary pollution to the environment.Quaternary phosphonium salts is a high efficient, broad-spectrum, environment friendly bactericide. When it is use in the circulating cooling water system, it will not cause bubble and will not exist on the interface and media, in addition, it has particular disposal effect on total growth bacteria(TGB), the sulfate reducer bacteria(SRB) and iron bacteria(IB).The study is based on molecular structure-activity theory, through SN2reaction, using tri-phenyl phosphine, tri-butyl phosphine and1,6-dibromohexane,1,12-dibromododecane as reactants, in the setting of reaction temperature, reaction time and reaction solvent to synthesize four new alkylene bi(quaternary phosphonium salt), such as1,6-hexylidene bi(Triphenylphosphonium bromide),1,6-hexylidene bi(Tributylphosphonium bromide),1,12-dodecylidene bi(Triphenylphosphonium bromide),1,12-dodecylidene bi(Tributylphosphonium bromide). Then the products were identified by IR and theirs phosphorus content, according theirs attribution. After target-products were affirmed, the sterilization properties of the products were investigated. The microorganisms, which cause serious damage to circulating cooling water, including total growth bacteria(TGB), sulfate reducer bacteria(SRB) and iron bacteria(IB). The experiment results showed that:after investigated the dosage of and the reaction time, the optimal antiseptic was1,12-dodecylidene bi(Tributylphosphonium bromide).Under the same experiment condition of20mg/l dosage and0.5h, the sterilization rate to TGB,SRB and ⅠB was98.40%,96.40%and99.79%.Under the similar experiment condition, in contrast with THPS, the sterilization rate to TGB,SRB and ⅠB of1,12-dodecylidene bi(Tributylphosphonium bromide) was better than that of THPS.
