This topic select water hyacinth as the research object, it’s ubiquity in the domestic and foreign and has been disaster caused by flooding water, we researched the character of antioxidate in the aqueous extract, it provide new method for the exploitation and utilization of water hyacinth, and also provide theoretical basis for produce natural antioxidants. And then, we cultivated water hyacinth in the heavy metal conditions,researched physiological mechanism to repair itself in the conditions of adversity,at the same time, we provided the theory basis of sewage treatment, this help to make better use of water hyacinth, really play the role of reuse.First,we acquired the coarse extraction liquid of water hyacinth by heating extraction,and determined the reducing power, the scavenging activity against DPPH free radicals, hydroxyl radicals and superoxide radical, and the ability of lipid peroxidation of coarse extraction liquid, discussed the anti-oxidation activity of extract.From the experiment results look,5kinds of oxidation method detection results confirmed that the water extract of water hyainth has some of the antioxidant activity, and antioxidant activity increased along with the extract increased concentration. And then, we cultivated water hyacinth in different concentration of Cu, Zn, Pb, Ag ions, discussed the influence of these ions against peroxidase activity, soluble protein content, catalase activity, super oxide dismutase activity and malondialdehyde. The Result show that low concentrations of Cu, Zn, Pb ions showed stimulatory effect on peroxidase activity, soluble protein content, catalase activity, super oxide dismutase in water hyacinth, While low concentration of Ag ion only showed stimulatory effect on peroxidase and soluble protein, and has inhibitory action to catalase and super oxide dismutase;Meanwhile, low concentrations of four ions present inhibitory effect on malondialdehyde content.High concentrations of four ions present inhibitory effect on POD and soluble protein content, among these four ions, high concentrations of Cu, Zn ions showed stimulatory effect on CAT and SOD activity; high concentration of Pb ion showed stimulatory effect on SOD activity and inhibitory effect on CAT activity in water hyacinth body, high concentration of Ag ion showed inhibitory effect both on CAT and SOD activities;Variation trend of antioxidant enzymes activity just contrary to MDA content in water hyacinth. This confirms that when water hyacinth in adversity, the self protection mechanism of water hyacinth will promote the increase of antioxidase and the decrease of MDA contents, with the result that self protection.
