The design and construction of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a subject of current interest inthe fields of chemistry, material and environment, due to their special functional properties such asluminescence, magnetism, catalysis, gas storage and separation, ions recognition and ion exchange as wellas the variety of architectures and topologies. The structure feature of MOFs is not only influenced by thestructure of organic ligands and the type of metal ions, but also by the ligating species and the nature ofdifferent counteranions. In this paper, nine functional MOFs (three porous MOFs and six homochiral3Dheterometal MOFs) and two POM-based porous compounds have been synthesized and characterized byIR, elemental analysis, XRD, TG technique and X-ray crystallography. The luminescent properties of thesecompounds were investigated in the solid state at room temperature.(I) The ligands L1and L2were easily obtained by the reaction of4–pyridine carboxaldehyde or3–pyridine carboxaldehyde with1,3,5-tricarbohydrazine benzene, respectively. Two2D interpenetratingMOFs [L12Cd(SCN)2](DMF)2(CH3OH)(H2O)1and [L2Co(SCN)2(H2O)](CH3OH)(H2O)22have beensynthesized with L1, Cd(NO3)2·4H2O, KSCN or L2, Co(NO32·6H2O, KSCN, respectively.(II) Six isostructural3D homochiral lanthanide-transition MOFs: MnNd(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)3;MnSm(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)4; MnLa(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)5; MnEu(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)6;MnDy(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)7; NiNd(cam)2(Hcam)(2,2’ bpy)8have been synthesized from camphoricacid (D(+) H2cam),2,2’-bipyridyl (bpy), MCl2and Ln(NO3)3·6H2O (M=Mn, Ni; Ln=Nd, Eu, Dy, La, Sm),respectively. (III) A novel3D porous MOFs [(bpp)2Ni3(btc)2(H2O)](H2O)3(9) has been synthesized withH3btc(1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid), bpp(1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane) and NiSO4.(IV) Two new POM-based compounds (H3L1)(PW12O40)(DMSO)0.5(CH3OH)2(H2O)10and(H3L1)3(P2Mo18O(62(DMF)6.5(H2O)1211have been synthesized using L1and POM anions ([PW12O40]3–or[PMo12O–40]3) as original materials, respectively.
