Synthesis And Evaluation Of The Optical And Pharmacal Properties Of Cyanine Dyes Possessing Oxygen And Sulfur Atoms

Cyanine dyes were a kind of functional dyes with nice molar extinction coefficient,favorable fluorescence quantum yield and their structures can be easily controlled. For theperfect optical properties and changeable structures, cyanine dyes have become one of themost important research targets in organic synthesis, optical and biological fields.Concerning the perfect optical properties and potential applications, a series oftrimethine and pentamethine cyanine dyes were synthesized. Then ion-exchange methodswere taken (including ion Cl, B(C6H4F)4and B(C6H5)4) to obtain corresponding salts, andtheir structures were fully confirmed by1HNMR and HRMS. Then they were used to studythe optical and medical properties. Meanwhile, theoretical calculations were taken usingGaussian software to reveal the influence of different heteroatoms, substitents and otherfactors on the optical properties of cyanine dyes. The antiprotozoal activities of cyaninedyes were also done.The main contents of this paper were listed as following:(1) A series of novel trimethine cyanine dyes with benzoxazolyl and benzothiazolylgroups were synthesized. Then ion-exchange methods were taken. Their structures werefully confirmed.(2) A series of novel pentamethine cyanine dyes were synthesized (including ion Cl,B(C6H4F)4and B(C6H5)4). Their structures were fully confirmed. Our work would behelpful for the synthesis of cyanine dyes.(3) The theoretical calculations have revealed the influence of sulfur atoms andoxygen atoms on the opticl properties of cyanine dyes.(4) On basis of already known reasearch, the third order non-linear optical propertiesof pentacyanine dyes were made using Z-scan technology.(5) The antiprotozoal activities of trimethine cyanine dyes were reported, it will bebenefit for the development of novel medicine.
