CNTs possessing outstanding properties in terms of mechanics, electricity, optics, thermology because of its nano-microstructures have become to be one of the most considerable materials worldwide recently. Now, it is being widely applied in the field of electro-devices, composite materials, bio-chemistry sensor materials and so on. However, there are still drawbacks such as poorly in bio-compatibility and organic-compatibility and not stable as anode material of li-ion battery which affect its applications. In this work, we modified MWCNTs and investigated its applications in the following aspects:(1) MWCNTs was modified by polymerized styrene in different paths and investigate the possiblity. Pathl:double substituted ferrocene react with MWCNTs and then react with St to give PS modified MWCNTs; path2:single substituted ferrocene copolymerizied with St and then the copolymer react with MWCNTs to give PS modified MWCNTs.(2) MWCNTs was modified using acids solutions and then we researched its cell properties. In the work, we treated MWCNTs using different H2SO4/HNO3solutions and then it was assembled into cells, by which we researched its charge/discharge properties as li-ion battery anode material. In this work, we characterized the ferrocene derivatives and modified MWCNTs using IR, MS,1H NMR, EDS, SEM and so on respectly; grafting ratio of PS on MWCNTs was confirmed by TGA; land system was used to investigate its charge/discharge performances. In conclusions:the path of single substituted ferrocene is available, dispersity of MWCNTs/PS was improved considerablely comparing to the crude MWCNTs; By treatment of MWCNTs with H2SO4/HNO3solution, MWCNTs performances better than the untreated MWCNTs, and it can give more reversible charge/discharge capacity with the depth of treatment..
