The catalytic activity, controllability and selectivity of catalyst depend on the central metal and the coordination environment, such as the type, the electronic and spatial structure of ligand. Alkaline earth metal is low-cost, low toxicity and good biocompatibility. Therefore, the development of alkaline earth metal as a catalyst has attracted much attention. Bridging bis(aryloxide) ligand is recognized as an effective ligand, which can make the corresponding complexes with a more open environment, result in the higher catalytic activity.1. Three types of nitrogen bridged bis(aryloxide) ligand was synthesized Ll=Me2N(CH2)3N{CH2-2-HO-3,5-C6H2-(tBu)2, L2=C3H6N2[1,4-(2-HO-3,5-di-tBu-C6H2CH2)2, L3=(C5H5N)CH2N{CH2-2-HO-3,5-C6H2-(tBu)2}2. These ligands were fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy,1H-NMR spectroscopy and Single crystal X-ray analyses.2. Reaction of sodium with three types of nitrogen bridged bis(aryloxide) ligand gave the corresponding sodium aryloxide; and then Reaction of three types of sodium aryloxide with Cal2in1:1molar ratio gave the complexes, All these complexes and sodium aryloxide were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and1H NMR spectroscopy.3. The catalytic activity of the calcium complexes of the guanidine reaction were systematically studied. It is found that such calcium complexes show low activity for the reaction of aromatic amines and carbodiimide. Calcium alkoxide Ca(OCH2CH2N Me2)2complexe showed high activity for the reaction of aromatic amines and carbodiimide.4. A series of sodium and potassium alkoxide [CH3CH2ONa,’PrONa,’PrOK,(CH3)3CONa, CH3CH2OK,(CH3)3COK] were prepared, and it is found that all these sodium alkoxide and potassium alkoxide showed high activity for the reaction of aromatic amines and carbodiimide.
